A James Beard semifinalist running a happy hour in a former mechanic’s garage on Main Street. That’s Bar Boheme in the Arts District, and if you haven’t been yet, you’re already behind.
The Bar Boheme runs a happy hour from 4-6PM Wed-Sun, with discounted wine by the glass, cocktail specials, and reduced-price bar snacks from a kitchen. The wine list is French-only — every bottle sourced from France by region — and the cocktail program from Petite Boheme next door is legitimately sharp.
Order This:
- Soupe à l’oignon (French onion, Alsatian-style with beer) — the bar staple regulars keep coming back for
- The service-industry-favorite: le burger — reasonably priced during happy hour
- Martini—gin or vodka, dry or dirty; order it and you’ll understand the cocktail program immediately
Bar Boheme sits at 1401 S. Main St. in a building that used to fix cars and now has a zebra marble bar and chandeliers. Chef James Trees (Esther’s Kitchen, Key to the City 2024) built this place to feed the neighborhood, and the happy hour window is specifically designed for service industry folks and Arts District regulars.
